What are Pots?
Pots are a simple way to organise the money in your ANNA account into separate piles. Instead of keeping everything mixed together, you can set money aside for specific purposes – like VAT, tax, rent, or upcoming bills, and know it’s kept separate from your everyday spending.
Your money stays in your ANNA account - it’s just clearly organised, so you always know what’s available.
Pots are easy to create
Say “Pots” in the ANNA app chat
Simple as that – or choose “Create pot” from the app’s thunderbolt menu.
Choose pot type
You can have dedicated pots – like for VAT or payroll – or something custom, like a pot for a new pizza oven in your cafe’s kitchen.
Set up pot top-ups
Choose how you want the money to be deposited into your new pot. It can be manual, a percentage of every incoming payment, or a fixed recurring amount.
Name and personalise pots
You can name each pot whatever you like, so it’s always clear what it’s for. Whether it’s “VAT”, “Tax”, “Rent”, or “Snazzy new laptop”, each pot is easy to recognise at a glance.
This makes it much easier to keep track of your money and stay organised – especially when you’re juggling lots of different expenses.
Spend directly from pots
Pots aren’t just for saving – you can spend directly from them too. That means when a bill is due, you can pay it straight from the pot you’ve set aside for that purpose.

Automate payments to saving pots
You can automate moving money into your pots, so saving happens without any extra brain strain.

Frequently asked questions
Are money pots safe?
Yes. Technically your pots are just chunks of the money in your main ANNA business account – they’re not moved anywhere else, so they get all the protection your standard ANNA Money business account gets.
Do pots generate income for me? Is it taxable?
They don’t – it’s just money that is visually separated from the rest of your money so you don't accidentally spend it. It’s still in the same business account, so it doesn’t generate any interest.
Since they don’t generate any new income for you on their own, there’s nothing in them to apply tax to.
How many pots can I have?
On Business pricing plan, 4 pots are included without any fee, and every next pot is £1 per pot, per month. On Big Business and Pay as You Go plans, you can have as many pots as you want, with no limit, go wild with them!
