After the promotional period ends, we'll move your balance to a new savings account with your plan rate. Your money transfers automatically, but previous transaction history won't be visible in the new account.

The rate is variable and tracks the Bank of England base rate. Interest accrues daily and is paid on the first day of each month. If you close your account mid-month, you'll receive any accrued interest with your closing balance.

AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate, which is what you could earn over a year.
Illustrative example: if the interest rate stayed at 3.66% AER for the full 12 months and you deposited £1,000 with no withdrawals, your balance would be £1,036.60. Actual returns depend on the rate applied to your account after the promotional period.

Yes. The interest rate is variable and will change according to the Bank of England base rate.

The margin above or below the base rate may also be changed. If the margin is changed to your disadvantage, you will be given at least 14 days' advance notice.

You can open an Easy Access Savings Account in the ANNA app.

There is no minimum or maximum balance limit.

Your money can be withdrawn at any time. Withdrawals before 12pm arrive the same working day (from 4pm). After 12pm, they arrive the next working day.

For example:

  • Withdrawal at 11:59am Monday → arrives from 4pm Monday
  • Withdrawal at 12:01pm Monday → arrives from 4pm Tuesday
  • Withdrawal any time on weekends/bank holidays → arrives next working day from 4pm

Deposits made into the savings account will arrive within a few minutes, whenever you make them.

If you close your account, we will pay out any interest accrued up to that date and pay it out along with the closing balance of the account. You can close your savings account at any time.

Your savings account is provided by Griffin Bank Ltd, a UK bank authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulation Authority (firm reference: 970920).

Important: The £120,000 limit applies to all your accounts with Griffin – whether they were opened via ANNA or any other provider. If you have multiple Griffin accounts, you're protected up to £120,000 in total, not per account.

Interest is paid gross, without the deduction of income tax. It is your responsibility to declare any income and pay any tax due.
