An advance on money you’ve basically already earned
YouLend looks at the revenue flowing through your business – marketplace sales and payment provider flows from the likes of eBay, Just Eat, Teya or Dojo – and advances you up to two months’ worth of it.
The technical name is a merchant cash advance, or revenue-based funding. In practice it means getting at money your business is already generating, without the wait.

Slow week? You settle less
It settles automatically, as a fixed share of your sales comes in. Quiet week, less settled. No sales that day, nothing settled. There’s no fixed monthly payment sitting there whether trading was good or grim.

“Most small businesses aren’t short on revenue, they’re short on timing.”
“The money’s coming, it’s just not here yet. We built ANNA to get admin out of people’s way – waiting for your own money to arrive shouldn’t be one more thing on that list.”

Spend it on whatever the business needs
There are no restrictions on what you use it for – including tax bills, which a lot of funders won’t touch. The most common uses we see:

Stocking up
Before a busy season, so you’re not turning away demand

Covering payroll
Through a slower month

Opening or refurbishing a site
A new shop, a second kitchen, a refit

Booking advertising
Now, for when the season picks up

Paying a tax liability
Without raiding the working capital

Covering an unexpected cost
Before it becomes a problem
The kind of investment that turns an okay month into a good one.

YouLend looks at how your business is trading rather than at assets or credit history alone. As a rough guide, they’ll want to see:
- More than £1,000 a month in revenue
- At least 86 days of sales visible in your bank statements
- Trading activity in the last month

What you’ll need to hand
Funding ranges from £1,000 to £2,000,000. YouLend says 80% of pre-qualified customers go on to be approved. Applying won’t affect your credit score, and an offer isn’t binding – plenty of people get the numbers on the table simply to plan ahead.

Questions people ask first
From £1,000 to £2,000,000, with terms typically running 4–12 months.
One fixed fee, between 3% and 25% of the amount funded. It’s agreed upfront, doesn’t accrue over time, and there’s nothing else – no interest, no origination fee, no hidden charges. The rate depends on how much you take, the term you choose and your business’s risk profile.
Automatically, as a fixed percentage of your daily sales. If your share is 15% and you take £1,000 on a given day, £150 goes towards the funding and £850 comes to you as normal. On days with no sales, you repay nothing.
No. Submitting an application won’t affect your credit score.
It’s additional security on the agreement. YouLend only makes an offer when it believes the business can meet the repayments, so it’s a safeguard rather than something expected to be used. It won’t appear on your personal credit file, or as a charge on your company’s Companies House record.
You can connect through Open Banking, which is approved by your bank and can be revoked at any time, or upload 3–12 months of statements instead.
YouLend looks at sales performance and trends, affordability, your credit profile, recent borrowing and your online presence.
Yes, at any time. The fixed fee doesn’t change, so it’s worth a conversation with YouLend first about whether it’s in your interest.
Contact YouLend as soon as you can – ideally before you’re two weeks behind. If sales drop significantly and stay down, their support team will talk through the options.
Yes. You may be eligible for a top-up once you’re part-way through repaying, subject to YouLend’s criteria, and you can apply again once the funding is fully repaid. Only one facility is repaid at a time. Future offers and fees are priced on your circumstances at the time, so they may differ from your first.

It takes a few minutes, it won’t affect your credit score, and an offer costs you nothing to look at.
